Forwarding rules: every setting explained

What each setting of a forwarding rule does, the order Aggregaat applies them to a post, and what each plan allows.

What happens to a post

Every new post from a source goes through the rule step by step. A post that a step drops is not sent. When the source edits a post, the copy you got is updated too.

  1. 1

    Source

A new post or an edit arrives from a channel or group the rule includes.

  2. 2

    Keyword filters

If the rule has keywords to keep, only posts with one of them pass. Posts with a word to skip are dropped.

  3. 3

    What to forward

Switched-off post types, reposts (if you skip them) and files over your plan's size limit are left out.

  4. 4

    Replacements

Lines are removed first, then patterns (regex) run, then word replacements, then affiliate tags in shop links.

  5. 5

    Header and footer

Your header line and the footer with the source name are added. Replacements never change them.

  6. 6

    Destination

The post is sent to the chat, group, channel or topic of the rule, keeping its formatting and media.

Settings of a rule

Open Forwarding in the mini app and tap a rule to see these sections.

Where to forward

Your private chat with the bot (My messages), a group, a supergroup topic or a channel. For groups and channels the bot must be an admin that can post.

Which sources

All your subscribed sources, or only the ones you pick. Private channels you added by invite link can be sources too.

Only keep posts with

Keywords to keep: when the list has words, a post must contain at least one of them. Letter case doesn't matter.

Learn more

Skip posts with

Words to skip: a post that contains any of them is not forwarded, even if it has a keyword to keep.

Learn more

Post types

Text, photo, video, GIF, file, audio, voice, video message and sticker. Switch off the ones you don't want.

Still send the text

When a post's media type is switched off, its caption still arrives as a text post. Turn it off to drop such posts completely.

Skip reposts

Only posts the channel writes itself, not posts it forwards from other chats.

Remove lines containing

Removes every line that contains the word or phrase, for example a “Join our channel” line at the end of each post.

Patterns (regex)

A pattern and a “Replace with” that run across the whole post, even over bold text and links: remove signatures, mentions, links or ad blocks.

Learn more

Replace words

Replaces a whole word or phrase with yours, for example the source's @mention with your channel's.

Affiliate tags

Puts your Amazon tag, Flipkart affid or any shop's link parameter into every shop link, short links included.

Learn more

Header and footer

Shows or hides the source name, or replaces it with your own label, and adds a header line on top of every post.

Group topics

Sends the rule's posts to one topic of a group with topics, so each rule can fill its own topic.

Learn more

Removed lines, patterns, word replacements and affiliate tags share the rule's replacement limit: 1 per rule on Premium, 5 per rule on Elite.

What each plan allows

Limits are per account unless the row says per rule.

Tips

  • Make one rule per destination: each rule has its own sources, filters and replacements.
  • Try every pattern on a real post with “Try it on a post” before saving: the preview uses the same engine as delivery.
  • If a post didn't arrive or looks different than expected, check the troubleshooting guide first.

Set up your rule

Open the mini app, go to Forwarding and create or edit a rule.
